Tilly is alone in the mountains...terrified, wounded and on the run from Dungwell Zoo, which still holds her mother captive. When Tilly is told a terrible family secret and then realises her life is in great danger, she knows she must do the unthinkable...escape without her mother.

After Tilly's close scrape with death, she is befriended by the Sheep Sisters and passes into the guardianship of Mika the Fox, who dwells in the Langdale Valley. Tilly knows, however, that brooding mountains are a place where danger is never far away...the ruthless Mr Gremwell is not alone in his quest to capture her for his secret plans.
